CAST GLASS

My interest in Cast Glass, or Sand Casted Glass, began when I was working with a friend who owned a glass blowing studio in San Diego, California. At the end of each week there would be extra glass that would otherwise be thrown away. Instead of discarding this perfectly usable glass, we decided to try Sand Casting with the old furnace glass from the week. This turned into a technique that I truly came to enjoy and now use quite frequently in my creative process.
